Advocacy is a crucial tool for driving social change and advancing the rights and well-being of women and girls. Epoch African Foundation  focus on advocacy efforts in various areas to create a more equitable and inclusive society. Here are some key areas of advocacy we focus on:

Gender Equality in Education: We Advocate for policies and initiatives that promote equal access to quality education for girls and boys, including the elimination of gender-based discrimination in schools and the removal of barriers that prevent girls from attending school.

End Gender-Based Violence: We Champion campaigns and advocacy efforts to end all forms of gender-based violence, including domestic violence, sexual harassment, human trafficking, and harmful traditional practices like female genital mutilation/cutting (FGM/C) and child marriage.

Women's Health and Reproductive Rights: Advocate for policies and programs that ensure women and girls have access to comprehensive healthcare, including sexual and reproductive health services, family planning, and safe maternal care.

Economic Empowerment: We Promote policies and initiatives that support women's economic empowerment, including equal pay for equal work, access to credit and financial resources, and support for women-led businesses and entrepreneurship.

Political Participation: We Advocate for increased women's representation in political leadership and decision-making positions. Support policies that encourage gender diversity in politics and governance.

Legal Reforms: We Campaign for legal reforms that protect and promote the rights of women and girls, including laws that address gender-based violence, child marriage, and discrimination.

Access to Justice: We Advocate for improved access to justice for women and girls who have experienced violence or discrimination. Support the establishment of gender-sensitive legal and judicial systems.

Ending Harmful Traditional Practices: We Work to eradicate harmful traditional practices like FGM/C, child marriage, and forced early marriage through awareness campaigns, community engagement, and policy advocacy.

Equal Employment Opportunities: We Promote policies and practices that ensure equal opportunities for women in the workplace, including measures to address workplace discrimination, harassment, and the gender pay gap.

Sexual and Reproductive Health Education: We Advocate for comprehensive sexual and reproductive health education in schools and communities to empower girls and women with knowledge about their bodies and reproductive rights.

Access to Technology: We Campaign for increased access to technology and digital skills training for women and girls to bridge the digital gender divide and enhance their economic and educational opportunities.

Climate Justice: We Advocate for gender-responsive climate policies and programs that address the unique vulnerabilities and contributions of women and girls in climate change mitigation and adaptation efforts.

Intersectional Approaches: We Recognize and address the intersectionality of gender with other forms of discrimination, such as race, ethnicity, class, disability, and sexual orientation, in advocacy efforts.

Media and Representation: We Promote gender-sensitive media portrayals and representation of women and girls in the media and entertainment industry to challenge stereotypes and promote positive role models.

Youth Engagement: We Engage and empower young people, including boys and young men, in advocacy efforts to promote gender equality and challenge harmful norms and behaviors.

International Advocacy: We Collaborate with international organizations and partners to advocate for global initiatives that advance women's and girls' rights, such as the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Data and Research Advocacy: We Advocate for improved data collection and analysis to highlight gender disparities and inform evidence-based policies and programs.
Cultural Change: We Work on changing cultural norms and attitudes that perpetuate gender inequality and discrimination through community mobilization, awareness campaigns, and education.
